Shine Fights’ Devin Price says contracts fulfilled, company’s future bright

While a handful of fighters and managers involved in this past May’s
canceled “Worlds Collide: Mayorga vs. Thomas” event have openly voiced
their concerns about an apparent lack of payment, Shine Fights CEO Devin
Price says they’ve got it all wrong.

In response to claims made earlier today by Chute Boxe head Augusto
Oliveira and fighter Zac George, Price told MMAjunkie.com that his promotion went above and beyond in its
efforts to take care of its contracted fighters.

Just look at the contract.

Rogent Lloret next addition to Bellator season-three heavyweight tourney

The sixth participant in Bellator’s heavyweight tournament has been
unveiled: Rogent Lloret.

Bellator officials today announced that Lloret, an M-1 veteran, will
join the eight-man bracket slated for the promotion’s third season,
which begins Aug. 12 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in
Hollywood, Fla.

Lloret’s first opponent has not yet been determined.

Featherweight Zac George earns Shine Fights release after two-month wait (Updated)

Zac George said there were warning signs about Shine Fight
Promotions from the get-go.

Signing the contract – a one-year, three-fight deal – was easy. But
after that, everything seemed hard.

“It was a total disaster,” George said after MMAjunkie.com today reported that several fighters from the
canceled “Shine Fights: Worlds Collide” event had not been paid.

Escudero vs. Gunderson, Drwal vs. Catone official for UFC Fight Night 22

Two previously reported contests are now official for UFC Fight Night 22
as Efrain Escudero meets John Gunderson and Nick Catone faces Tomasz Drwal.

Both bouts were first reported by MMAjunkie.com.

UFC Fight Night 22 takes place Sept. 15 at the Frank Erwin Center in
Austin, Texas, and airs live on Spike TV.

Heavyweight Eddie Sanchez added to Bellator’s season-three tournament

Six-time UFC veteran Eddie Sanchez will fight in
Bellator’s season-three heavyweight tournament.

Bellator officials today announced that the 28-year-old slugger has
secured the fifth slot in the upcoming eight-man bracket.

Sanchez’s first opponent has yet to be determined.

HDNet Fights Video Vault (bonus edition): Gegard Mousasi vs. Jake O’Brien

In a special bonus edition of HDNet Fights Video Vault we take a look at
this past week’s DREAM.15 event and a “light heavyweight” contest
between Gegard Mousasi and Jake O’Brien.

The Mousasi vs. O’Brien fight was one of two opening-round bouts in
DREAM’s light heavyweight grand prix, though O’Brien came in a stunning
21 pounds overweight.

Nevertheless, the fight went on as planned, though only briefly.

Shark Fights confirms Keith Jardine vs. Trevor Prangley in September

The comeback trail of light heavyweight Keith Jardine begins in
Amarillo, Texas.

Texas-based fight promotion Shark Fights today announced that Jardine
(15-8-1) will attempt to turn his career tide when he meets tough
veteran Trevor Prangley  (22-6-1) in the headliner of Shark Fights 13.

Shark Fights 13 takes place Sept. 11 at the Amarillo Civic Center.

Shine Fights moving forward, but Chute Box head says fighters have yet to be paid

Two months after the last-minute cancellation of its planned “Worlds
Collide: Mayorga vs. Thomas” event, Shine Fight Promotions is working
hard on regrouping, re-organizing and promoting a third event.

Unfortunately the accounting department apparently isn’t working quite as hard on
cutting checks.

Chute Boxe head Augusto Oliveira today informed MMAjunkie.com that the two fighters he had scheduled at the event,
Luiz Azeredo and Alexandre “Cacareco” Ferreira, have yet to be paid
despite multiple promises of a forthcoming purse.
