Matt Wiman vs. Mac Danzig rematch booked for UFC Fight Night 22

A rematch between Matt Wiman and Mac Danzig is set for UFC Fight Night 22.

The lightweight fighters’ do-over comes after a controversial stoppage in their first meeting at UFC 115 earlier this month, in which Wiman was awarded a submission victory by guillotine choke.

Sources close to the event confirmed with MMAjunkie.com the fight, which Heavy.com first reported.

UFC 116 weigh-ins, workouts, presser, autograph session open to fans (Updated)

Official fighter weigh-ins for this weekend’s UFC 116 event take place Friday, July 2, at 7 p.m. ET (4 p.m. PT local time) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

The weigh-ins are one of four events open to fans this week.

Additionally, Wednesday’s open workouts, Thursday’s pre-event press conference, and Friday’s UFC autograph session are also open to the general public.

HDNet carries DREAM.15, Aoki vs. Kawajiri title fight live on July 10

HDNet will carry a live broadcast of next week’s DREAM.15 event for North American audience.

The July 10 event takes place at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.

A lightweight title fight between champion Shinya Aoki and challenger Tatsuya Kawajiri headlines the show, which also features the start of the organization’s light-heavyweight grand prix.

Strikeforce’s Jan Finney defends referee Kim Winslow, plans return to 135 pounds

Jan Finney is still a bit blurry on the details of her fight with women’s middleweight champion Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos this past Saturday at “Strikeforce and M-1 Global: Fedor vs. Werdum.”

Finney concedes her game plan went out the door when she took a few punches.

And though many fans are angry over how many of those punches she took
before referee Kim Winslow stopped the bout in Santos’ favor, Finney
holds no one other than herself responsible for the fight’s result.

Bellator confirms Zoila Frausto replaces Rosi Sexton in season-three tourney

As expected Zoila Frausto’s knockout win at Bellator 23 has earned her the right to replace her defeated opponent in the organization’s upcoming season-three tournament.

Frausto upset Rosi Sexton with a first-round knockout at the June 23 show.

Afterward, Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney told MMAjunkie.com that Frausto might take Sexton’s spot, and Frausto subsequently told us she wanted it.

Tyson Griffin vs. Takanori Gomi official for UFC on Versus 2, remains on main card

As expected Tyson Griffin has replaced injured Joe Stevenson and fights
fellow lightweight Takanori Gomi next month at UFC on Versus 2.

MMAjunkie.com passed along news of the change earlier today, and UFC
executive since have made it official.

The fight remains on the Versus-televised main card of the event, which
takes place Aug. 1 at the San Diego Sports Arena in California with a
Jon Jones vs. Vladimir Matyushenko light-heavyweight main event.

Tuesday autopsy scheduled for South Carolina MMA fighter who died after pro debut

Mixed-martial-arts competitor Michael Kirkham died this morning as a
result of injuries sustained from a professional mixed-martial-arts bout
this past Saturday at the USC Aiken Convocation Center in South
Carolina.

WRDW News in Augusta, S.C., first reported the news.

Kirkham, 30, suffered repeated blows to the head during an MMA event
dubbed “Confrontation at Convocation Center” and collapsed afterward. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.

Carlos Condit vs. Dan Hardy targeted for UFC 120 in London

Carlos Condit has agreed to fight fellow welterweight contender Dan Hardy in a UFC 120 bout planned for October.

A source close to the overseas show told MMAjunkie.com verbal agreements are in place for the fight, which was first reported by MMAWeekly.com earlier today.

UFC 120 takes place Oct. 16 at The 02 in London, England.

Strikeforce officially draws 11,757 attendance, $1 million gate for "Fedor vs. Werdum"

This past weekend’s “Strikeforce and M-1 Global: Fedor vs. Werdum” event officially produced a gross live gate of $1,066,739 and a crowd of 11,757 spectators, who produced the sixth-largest attendance in Strikeforce/HP Pavilion history.

The California State Athletic Commission today released the official figures.

The gate total is identical to the early estimates provided on fight night by Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker, though the attendance dropped slightly from the initial estimate of 12,698.
